I found this recipe on Pinterest a while back. Sometimes, when i’m on Pinterest I feel like i’m idea hording (Hi, my name is Cynthia and i’m an idea hoarder). I pin, pin, pin and I forget what I’ve been doing for an hour. It’s addictive.
I woke up late this morning but who cares? It’s Saturday! Still time for breakfast.
Strawberry Jelly Rolls by Averie Cooks
Bakery rolls + cinnamon sugar +1 egg + strawberry jelly + 1/4 stick of butter = my breakfast 😉 (servings 4)
It’s like a mini french toast with sugary gooey jam goodness. Open up the rolls with your thumbs to create a 1 inch hole (don’t core and don’t puncture the roll all the way through). You dunk the rolls in the lightly beaten egg, coat with cinnamon sugar mixture, and then add a tablespoon of jam (you can add a tab of butter in each hole, I did). Spray pan with non stick spray and cube 1/4 stick of butter and arrange around the rolls. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes. Serve immediately.
Easy recipe and a good way to start the weekend. Happy Weekend!
